Q&A

Isn't a Personal Chef expensive?

Absolutely not! When was the last time you calculated food costs, your time planning, shopping for, preparing and cleaning up meals?...not to mention all the perishables you purchased and intended to cook but didn't. When employing a Personal Chef, not only are you providing wonderful meals for your family, but buying more time to do the things that are important for you!

According to the National Restaurant Association - "Nearly half of all adults (47%) say they spend more time than they would like preparing daily meals at home

Having a Personal Chef come to your home is very affordable. There will be no more food thrown out you didn't have time to prepare, and no more tip calculations. Your Personal Chef will make it so easy to enjoy the evening meal in the comfort of your own home...with your family at your own dinner table

What should I expect from my Personal Chef?

You can expect delicious food prepared to your specifications, left behind in the proper container, with complete heating directions. They will leave your kitchen as clean as you left it and your home filled with incredible aromas!

How can a Personal Chef help me?

Whether your household is single or a family, a Personal Chef can help you find the time to do the things that are important to you while still being able to put delicious, healthy meals on the table! If you need a special diet, or just want comfort foods, we're there to prepare exactly what fits your needs!

How often will you come?

Clients use my service on a variety of schedules. Services can be scheduled regularly every week, every two weeks, monthly or as needed. The meals can be used as the majority of your dinners, or can be used to supplement your own meals on busy nights or weeks. A customized schedule to meet your particular needs will be worked out at your

 complimentary consultation.

Who needs a Personal Chef?

Busy parents, active singles, new parents, people on special diets, people with food allergies, recuperating patients, seniors, anyone who is unable or unwilling to cook for any reason - in fact, anyone who needs more time, more energy or a healthier lifestyle.

How long will you be in my home?

On average, I will be in your home 5-8 hours, and the time will greatly depend on the menu and the type of service that fits your needs. We will discuss the schedule at your initial interview and agree on convenient time for both parties.

Will I need to be home while you cook?

Not at all. Clients hire me to afford them time. What a waste if you had to sit home while you could be doing more important things. Entry arrangements will be made at our initial interview.

How will the food be packaged and stored?

Food will be packaged in a variety of containers, including microwave-safe containers, freezer bags, aluminum pans, CorningWare© and Pyrex©. You will also have the option to have meals vacuum-sealed, which best preserves and protects your meals, and also provides the most convenient heating method.

Food will be left in your refrigerator or freezer, and hot meals can be left in your crockpot, ready to eat when you get home. Food can also be prepared and left for you to grill or cook later that evening. Vacuum sealer bags will be purchased for you and included in the cost of your groceries.

How will I heat the food?

Vacuum-sealed food may be heated directly from the freezer or refrigerator by placing in a pot of gently boiling water. In other containers, you will need to thaw the food overnight in the refrigerator. Detailed heating instructions will be provided, based on the type of packaging used. We will discuss both the packaging and the heating process during our interview, and I will be sure that you are comfortable with the process before your first cheffing date.

Do I pay you ahead of each cooking date?

A Grocery Deposit is required 5 days before you cheffing date. Fee payment is to be paid on or before actual cheffing date. On the agreed upon cheffing date a detailed invoice will be left for your records.
